At First Church we
believe that the Church is called to be the hands and
feet of Christ. For us this means that the our
mission to embody the kingdom of God is not something
that takes place within the confines of our church
buildings, but out in the world. Members from our
church engage in a wide variety of local and global
hands-on mission projects. If you are interested in
serving on a local or stateside mission project, or if
you have always wanted to participate in a foreign
mission trip, use the information and the links on
this page to learn more about First Church’s past
mission projects, and how you can get involved in the
future.
Habitat for Humanity Apostle's Build
In
March of 2009 First Church partnered with 11 other
area churches to participate in the Apostle's Build,
a program designed by Habitat for Humanity. This
program allows churches to provide the necessary
funds and labor to build a Habitat house by joining
forces, funds, resources, etc. We were thrilled to
be part of this project, and to provide the lunch
for all of the hungry workers on the site.
