A New Sermon Series

As we stand on the threshold of Lent, our hearts and minds turn toward the solemnity and reverence of this season. Lent is a time of introspection, a sacred period for the Christian community to reflect on our spiritual journey. It is here, in the quiet corners of our souls, that we are invited to engage with a powerful and often misunderstood word: "Repentance."

As we prepare to embark on this spiritual voyage, I invite you to join us for our new sermon series titled "Rectify - Crossing the Divide from Lost to Found." Together, we will discover that repentance is not a word of condemnation but a beckoning toward transformation and renewal. It is not an end, but a beginning—a gateway to grace and a step towards the heart of God.

Our journey begins on the first Sunday in Lent, February 19, 2024, with "Zacchaeus - Rectify While Stuck." As we explore Luke 19:1-10, we will see Zacchaeus in a sycamore tree, a man trapped by his status and wealth, yet called by Jesus to come down and be restored.

On the second Sunday, February 25, 2024, we turn to "Thomas - Rectify While Doubting." In John 20:24-31, we will encounter Thomas, whose doubts and questions lead him not to disillusionment but to a profound declaration of faith.

Our third Sunday, March 3, 2024, presents "Nicodemus – Rectify While Lost," where through John 3:1-13, we will walk with Nicodemus as he navigates the enigma of rebirth and finds his way from confusion to clarity in the light of Christ's words.

On the fourth Sunday, March 10, 2024, we meet "A Free Man – Rectify While Under Attack" in Mark 5:15-20. Here, a man formerly possessed by demons stands liberated, his life a testament to Jesus's power to redeem what seems irredeemable.

Finally, on the fifth Sunday in Lent, March 17, 2024, we will share the journey of "Jairus – Rectify While Moving," as we witness a father's desperate race against time turn into a miraculous encounter with the Life-giver in Mark 5:35b-43.

In Mark 1:15, Jesus proclaims, "The time has come... The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!" It is a clarion call to each of us. Repentance is often shrouded in misconceptions, seen as self-incrimination, a source of guilt and shame. Yet, what if repentance is the path to rectification, the very process that leads us to restoration and life?

This Lent, let us challenge our preconceptions and embrace a journey of repentance—not as an admission of guilt, but as an affirmation of God's unending grace. Come and hear how Jesus leads many to repentance in a way that is life-giving and guides us to abide in grace.

Join us as we traverse from the wilderness of our wanderings to the promise of Easter morning. Together, let us cross the divide from lost to found.
