Grow in Agape

A fresh revelation from God is one of the ways that help keep our hearts burning for Jesus. There is nothing like being in the living and active Word of God. Sometimes I find myself striving to try and find more meaning in the scriptures. I was reminded today that I can simply ask the Holy Spirit for a deeper revelation of the Word. In John 15:7 it says, "But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!" It is my desire to trust and believe wholeheartedly in these words.

I found myself in 1 John 4 and the Holy Spirit pointed out 2 scriptures to me. Vs 10 "This is real love-- not that we love God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins." ... Vs 13 "And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us."  To love the Lord with all that we are is the greatest commandment and the only way we can know real love is to look unto God. His love is never ending, deeper and wider than we could ever fathom. He loves us so much that He sent His Son to be the eternal sacrifice, once and for all, that we can be the temple for the Spirit of the Living God. As the Holy Spirit revealed this to me I was pierced with the overwhelming love of God. I am grateful beyond words that God loves us, wants to be with us and for us to be with Him that much.

This weeked would you try an activity? Would you ask the Holy Spirit to open your spiritual vision to a simple scripture? Then meditate on that scripture until He shows you something that pierces your heart.
