Now Preaching: Psalms

Can you feel it? September is here. The air smells a little different. The kids are back in school, schedules are shifting, and somehow life suddenly feels a little… busier. After the long summer, September has a way of pulling us back into routines, responsibilities, and the “real world.”

That’s why this September, we’re pausing to explore the Psalms—those ancient songs that speak right into our everyday lives. These aren’t just prayers from long ago; they’re invitations for us to notice God in the little things, the big things, and even the things we usually overlook.

We’re focusing on what I like to call God’s implicit revelations—truths that aren’t spelled out, the things we take for granted, the subtle ways God shows up. When we read the Psalms, we can hear God in action words: know, make, look, say, ask, trust, rest. These words are alive. They call us to pay attention, to notice God moving in our joy, our questions, our tears, and our thanks.

There are no God-incidences—God meets us on purpose. So bring your real life with you. Come as you are. And let’s see what God has to say through these songs of faith.

Here’s our lineup for September:

Sunday, September 7th – Psalm 139

God knows us completely. Nothing about us is hidden.

Sunday, September 14th – Psalm 14

People mess up, but God still calls us to choose good.

Sunday, September 21st – Psalm 79

When life hurts, we can tell God the truth and ask for help.

Sunday, September 28th – Psalm 91

God is our safe place; when we love Him, He answers.

So grab your Bible (or your favorite app), take a few minutes before Sunday, and read these Psalms. Notice the action words. Bring your real life—your questions, your joys, your struggles. See how God meets you in the middle of your busyness, right where you are.

September matters. Let’s make it matter for our hearts too.
