Pentecost Sunday June 8th 2025

This Sunday, June 8th, we come together to celebrate Pentecost, a day rich with history, meaning, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost is a pivotal moment in the life of the Church, a time to reflect on the gift of the Holy Spirit, which empowers us as Followers, Disciples, and Apostles. As we celebrate, we’ll renew our call to live out the mission of Christ, being both witnesses of His resurrection and instruments of His grace in the world.

Our worship services will be a joyful celebration of God’s continued presence and the mighty works of the Holy Spirit. (More Music! Maracas Welcome!) This is a special time for us to come together as one body in Christ, giving thanks for the nourishment He provides, both spiritually and physically.

At The End of Each Worship Service

Pastor Mario will invite those present to participate in a beautiful and sacred Anointing Ceremony. Anointing with oil is a biblical practice with deep significance, used for

  1. Consecrating and rededicating one's life (Exodus 28:41), for

  2. Preparing the body and soul for an important task (Matthew 6:17), or for

  3. Seeking healing in mind and body (Luke 10:34).

This moment, however, is not about the oil or the person anointing but about the power and presence of God, invoked in the name of Jesus Christ. It is a reminder that we are never alone in our journeys—God’s Spirit is always with us, guiding, strengthening, and empowering us for what lies ahead.

In a Spirit of Celebration

we also invite you to take home a special gift—a windmill. These windmills, lovingly assembled by our church volunteers, are symbols of the wind and power of the Holy Spirit.

Just as the wind of God swept through the apostles on the Day of Pentecost, so too does the Spirit continue to move among us. You are invited to place these windmills in your garden, on your porch, or in any place of comfort, as a reminder of God’s presence and power that is always with us. As the windmills turn, let them be a physical symbol of the Holy Spirit at work in your life, a visible sign of God's comfort and guidance.

As we reflect on the significance of Pentecost, we are reminded of the profound way the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples with a mighty rush of wind and tongues of fire (Acts 2:1-13). In that moment, the Spirit empowered them to proclaim the good news of Christ’s resurrection with boldness and clarity. The Spirit was not only a presence among them, but also a force that gave them the strength to step out in faith, to share God’s love and truth with the world. This is the same Spirit that is at work in each of us today—guiding, equipping, and sending us out to fulfill our calling as followers of Jesus.

Let us come together this Sunday, not just to celebrate an event in history but to allow the Holy Spirit to renew and empower us for the work God has prepared for us. Whether you are seeking healing, rededicating your life, or simply desiring a deeper connection with God, this is a time to experience the power and peace that comes from the presence of the Holy Spirit.
