Our desire is to incorporate themed activities that instruct children in "The Way" and also provide a fun and safe environment to laugh, play, and be celebrated as God's most wonderful gift to the church. Vacation Bible School is an easy way to get kids involved and help them grow in Christian faith while providing members of the church an invaluable opportunity to outreach and make meaningful connections and conversations.
Church membership is not required to participate. Vacation Bible School or "VBS" is typically a 4-5 day-long affair that takes place during the summer break, usually by the end of June. Children attend for around two to three hours each day. Vacation Bible School teachers are church staff as well as church members volunteering their time. Many of the church members helping out with VBS are parents, too.
Our coordinator for all of VBS is Mrs. Shannon Walter and you can reach out to her by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling the church office at 352-357-2833. The theme of each VBS changes by the year, we are known for using Group, and we aim to collaborate with other churches so that we are all not doing VBS during the same week.
The Church Leadership and Mrs. Shannon are always looking for volunteers to staff each of the areas each year. By donating your time, talents, and gifts to are serving children and their families. If you are new we will do a background check and cover the cost any of the costs. We will also provide you with the lesson or activity material and even snacks and refreshments!
You will see that by the end of VBS not only you have helped children and their adults grow in your faith, but also create new friendships, learn some silly catchy songs, and grown in YOUR OWN faith. With us you will learn by teaching, you will grow by encouraging and you will feel love by loving in the name of our creator and redeemer!
