140 Years of Faith, Grace, and Community: Celebrating First Presbyterian Church of Eustis

This year, our beloved First Presbyterian Church of Eustis marks a remarkable milestone—140 years of ministry, fellowship, and service. Reaching this anniversary is nothing short of a miracle, a testament to God's enduring grace and the faithfulness of those who have called this church their spiritual home. Since 1884, through challenges and triumphs, our church has stood as a beacon of hope, illuminating the path for our community and reminding us all of the steadfast love of God.

A Legacy of Faith

The history of First Presbyterian Church is woven into the fabric of Eustis itself. Our congregation has witnessed and weathered the sweeping changes of history—from economic depressions to world wars, from cultural shifts to global pandemics. Yet through it all, this church has not only survived but thrived, standing firm as a sanctuary of faith and resilience.

Since 1912, our beautiful home at the corner of South Center and Citrus Streets has served as a gathering place where generations have come to worship, learn, and grow together. These walls have heard prayers whispered in joy and cried out in sorrow. They have seen baptisms and weddings, farewells and celebrations. Every moment has been a thread in the rich tapestry of our shared story.

A Beacon of Hope

While challenges have come and gone, First Presbyterian Church has remained a constant presence in a changing world. During times of national uncertainty, our church has been a refuge for those seeking peace. In moments of personal hardship, it has been a family offering support and love.

Our church has not just endured but has shone brightly, serving as a lighthouse in the storm, guiding people toward the abundant grace of God. This legacy is not just about surviving; it is about thriving in purpose, sharing God’s love, and embodying His kingdom here on earth.

A Growing Family

As we celebrate our past, we also embrace the future with hope and anticipation. First Presbyterian Church is a congregation deeply rooted in history and tradition, but we are also a growing, dynamic family of believers. We strive to live out our faith authentically, welcoming everyone with warmth and joy.

Our community is unique because it thrives on diversity. We may not always agree on the issues that divide modern culture, but we see this diversity as a strength. Here, we practice the art of disagreeing without being disagreeable—a rare and beautiful thing in today’s world. We know that unity in Christ transcends differences, and we cherish the love and respect that bind us together.

Special Events to Celebrate

We are thrilled to announce two special events to honor our 140th anniversary:

  • Saturday, February 15th: We will host an Open House and Historical Tour to acknowledge and celebrate everything that makes us vital for Lake County and the world. Come explore our history and see firsthand the ways we’ve been a part of this community for over a century.

  • Sunday, February 16th: Join us for a Commemorative Worship Service at 10 AM, where you and your family are specially invited. This worship will blend contemporary and traditional elements and feature the presence of representatives from our rich history and vital ministries.

All that’s left is for you to help share this exciting news with your friends and family and make plans to join us for this unforgettable celebration!

A Celebration of Grace

As we prepare to celebrate this incredible milestone, we reflect on how much God has done through this church and how much He continues to do. From mission projects that have touched lives around the globe to local initiatives that serve our neighbors, our church has been an instrument of God’s grace.

We invite everyone—members, friends, and neighbors alike—to join us in this celebration of 140 years. Together, we will honor the past, rejoice in the present, and dream boldly for the future.

You’re Welcome Here (We mean that!)

The love we share at First Presbyterian Church is both deep and real, and it is extended to all who walk through our doors. Whether you’ve been with us for decades or are visiting for the first time, know that you are welcome here.

As we reflect on 140 years of faith, we give thanks to God for His unending grace. And as we look forward, we trust in His promise to guide us for generations to come. Here’s to 140 years of shining His light—and to the bright future ahead.

Please mark your calendars and join us in this celebration of faith, history, and hope!
