24th Sunday after Pentecost | John 15: 12 - 17
"Get set" can be the last opportunity for everyone involved to recognize the magnitude of the events that will unfold. Get set means... Know your role; find your place. "Get set" isn't a cautionary tale; it is an assurance that the thing you heard about is happening whether you are prepared or not... That you were chosen to be here, to do this very thing. Church, in our Scripture of today, Jesus is giving us a "Get Set" signal. Jesus is telling us that the goal isn't making it to heaven, that heaven is simple the outcome of a friendship covered in mutual Love. Let us SHOW Love because we KNOW Love. Church, we are not called friends; we have been made friends by the power of His Love.
