--

Hazel Molnar died peacefully in her sleep on March 10, 2024, in Altoona, Florida, and was the beloved wife and eternal love of Gene Molnar, and matriarch of her family.

As we begin to celebrate her life and grieve her physical absence, we are reminded of the hope in the resurrection of our Lord. While grief is a natural human reaction, we must take the time to reflect on the profound impact she has had on our community and the love she shared with Gene, her husband of over 70 years. Their commitment to each other and serving others is truly inspiring, and their presence among us has been a beacon of joy and faith. Let us cry if we need to. However, we must give thanks to God for the life and the accomplishments of our beloved Hazel.

As we remember Hazel, we are reminded of our church's vision to reflect and reveal the love of Christ in all that we do. Hazel embodied this vision with every movement she took, even she was moving slowly but surely to worship. She moved forward to worship, with a joy that emanated from her deep connection to Christ, and her presence among us was a testament to the transformative power of faith and love. She was a teacher among teachers. She was the kind of teacher that everyone remembers, not for the subject or object of her teaching, but because of how she embodied the spirit of teaching and loved those whom she taught. She was the perfect example of how people don’t remember what you do but they do remember how you made them feel.

Hazel's teaching abilities were evident in the way she lived her life. She possessed wisdom that surpassed her years, and she shared this wisdom with humility and grace. In honor of her teaching spirit, let us reflect on these words from Proverbs 22:6: "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it." Hazel understood the importance of nurturing and guiding others in their faith journey, and her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. Not simply because she was good, but more importantly because God is good.

As we celebrate Hazel's life, we hold fast to our faith in the resurrection. We confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, and we believe in His resurrection. Just as Christ conquered death, we trust in the promise of eternal life for all who believe in Him. Though Hazel's physical presence may no longer be with us, her spirit lives on in the arms of our loving Savior.

Let us pray

Gracious God, we come before you with hearts full of gratitude for the life of Hazel Molnar. Thank you for blessing us with her presence and for the love and faith she shared so generously with our community. As we mourn her death, we ask for your comfort and strength to be with her family, especially her beloved husband Gene and family. Surround them with your peace and fill them with the assurance of your love.

May we, inspired by Hazel's example, a faithful disciple until her last breath. May we continue to reflect and reveal your love in all that we do. Help us to walk in faith, to serve with compassion, and to love one another as you have loved us. May Hazel's legacy of love and faith continue to shine brightly in our hearts and in our community.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Let us hold Hazel, Gene, and their family in our prayers as we remember and celebrate the beautiful life of Hazel Molnar.

Let us be of good couarge and know that we are loved.
