Chapter 1 begins with Peter's introduction, where he identifies himself as both "Simon Peter," acknowledging his past and his transformed identity in Christ. He emphasizes the shared faith of believers, grounded in the righteousness of God and Savior Jesus Christ. Through divine power, believers obtain all things necessary for life and godliness, leading to the cultivation of virtues such as faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love.
