Celebrating the New Members and their Public Confession of Faith
This past Sunday, during our 5th Sunday United Worship, we had the joyful privilege of welcoming several new members into our church family. Each of these individuals made the public confession that **Jesus is our Lord**, taking an important step in their faith journey. We are excited to officially recognize **Michael Strippoli, Kelsey Strippoli, Ilse Ann Dehn, Jennifer Varhol, Cynthia Schmitz, Jennifer Hayward, Peggy Kleven, and Alexandra (Allie) Miller** as new members of our congregation.
We also acknowledge that **Patricia Bricault** and **Margie Varhol** are on the path to membership and look forward to celebrating their commitment soon.
Membership in the Church of Jesus Christ is not just a title; it is a joy and a privilege, as well as a commitment to actively participate in Christ’s mission. As members, we bear witness to God’s love and grace and promise to engage responsibly in the ministry of Christ’s Church. This involvement includes:
Proclaiming the good news** in word and deed
Taking part in the everyday life and worship** of the congregation
Lifting one another** in prayer, mutual concern, and active support
Studying Scripture** and the issues of Christian faith and life
Supporting the ministry** of the church through the giving of money, time, and talents
Demonstrating a new quality of life** within and through the church
Responding to God’s activity** in the world through service to others
Living responsibly** in personal, family, vocational, political, cultural, and social relationships
Working for peace, justice, freedom, and human fulfillment
Caring for God’s creation
Participating in the governing responsibilities of the church
Reviewing and evaluating regularly the integrity of one’s membership and considering ways to increase meaningful participation in worship and service
We celebrate the gifts and talents of each of these new members and look forward to how they will enrich our church community.
For those of you contemplating church membership, remember: **You don't need to be a church member to believe in God**, but joining the church is a powerful way to demonstrate your commitment to Jesus and receive support in fulfilling the Great Commission.
In the coming weeks, we will share more about each of our new members, along with their pictures, to foster connections within our community and glorify God through our mission, fellowship, and service. Let us rejoice together in this new chapter of faith and commitment!
