Remembering Patricia A. Sterling: Beloved Child of God
It is with heavy hearts that we come together today to remember and honor the life of Patricia A. Sterling, a dear member of our church family who passed away on December 29, 2023, at the age of 91. While many of you did not have the privilege of personally knowing Patricia, I am also aware that many of our cherished members and friends knew her well and treasured her presence among us.
Patricia's life was a testament to the love and grace of our Heavenly Father. She was born in Peru, Indiana, and later made her home in Eustis, Florida, where she became a vital part of our community. Patricia was a devoted homemaker and a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church of Eustis, where she selflessly volunteered her time in the church office for several years.
In addition to her service within our church, Patricia served her community in various capacities. She was a former P.T.A. President in the Boca Raton School System, played a vital role in the Palm Glades Girl Scout Council, and was actively involved in Girl Scout Leadership Training. Patricia was also a member of the Azalea Garden Club of Eustis and the Eustis Historical Society, showing her commitment to preserving the heritage of our town. Her heart was always open to children's causes, and she worked tirelessly to make a positive impact on young lives.
Patricia, along with her family, owned and operated Sterling Gold Coast Furniture in Boca Raton from 1956 to 1971. Later, she co-owned Lake Worth & Deerfield Beach Florida Radio Shack stores from 1973 to 1978. Her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication were evident in all aspects of her life.
As we gather to remember Patricia, let us reflect on the profound truth that we are all beloved children of God. In His great love for us, God has brought us together as a church family, and we are siblings in Christ. Even though some did not have the privilege of knowing Patricia personally, we share a common bond in our faith and love for our Heavenly Father.
During times of grief, it is important that we come together in prayer and support for those who are mourning. Let us extend our heartfelt prayers to Patricia's family as they navigate this difficult journey of loss. May they find comfort and strength in the arms of our loving God.
As we remember Patricia A. Sterling, let us also remember the words of the Apostle Paul in Romans 12:15: "Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep." Let us be a source of love and comfort to those who are grieving, just as Patricia was a source of love and compassion to those she encountered in her lifetime.
Please join me in offering our prayers for the Sterling family as they celebrate Patricia's life on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home in Eustis. Let us also remember Patricia's final resting place at the Boca Raton Municipal Cemetery & Mausoleum, where she will be reunited with her beloved husband, James.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Amedisys Foundation at 3854 American Way, Suite A, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
As we say our farewells, let us remember that Patricia A. Sterling was indeed a beloved child of God, a devoted member of our church family, and a cherished friend to many. Her legacy of love, service, and compassion will continue to inspire us all.
Count it all joy,
