RISE AND SHINE! (Psst: It’s about the 8 O’clock service…)
— Dalton Yancey —
There are some folks who just get up early. If you are one of the early risers, this is for you! Come and worship with us at the First Light Service at 8:00 AM on Sundays! This service has grown from a small group to now over 20 attendees!
We are casual, and interactive with Pastor Mario’s preaching and leading, and we enjoy a great worship service in the Sanctuary, which includes some awesome music by one of our talented musicians who sings with his guitar’s accompaniment some wonderful old favorites. This past Sunday, we heard four memorable numbers: “Shall We Gather at the River,”, “He Leadeth Me,” “Wayfaring Stranger” and “Nothing But the Blood of Jesus.”
But that’s not the main event, we experience an interactive, lively two-way discourse with Pastor Mario as he delivers his sermon.
And, we pray for each other, celebrating our victories and having empathy for each other’s afflictions.
Sunday’s message was especially appropriate for our church. Using the text from the prophet Haggai 1:15b and 2:1-9; we reflected on the prophet’s message:
“Does anyone remember this house in its former splendor? How does it look now? But, the Lord says, Be strong, all you people in the land. Now, get to work, for I am with you.” (emphasis added)
These are serious words from the Old Testament’s prophet Haggai who was speaking plainly from God. As we recover from the challenges of the pandemic, we as a congregation must roll up our sleeves and get to work. It is up to us to rebuild our congregation to serve and show Jesus to each other while serving our community! Come and join us!
